At a White Home press convention to debate Apple’s new US manufacturing plans, CEO Tim Prepare dinner offered a present to President Donald Trump: a “distinctive” piece of glass from iPhone glass producer Corning that’s set in a pure gold base.
The piece of glass is a big disc with the Apple emblem minimize into it. On the highest of the glass, President Trump’s title is printed. On the underside, there’s a signature that seems to be Prepare dinner’s in addition to the message “Made in USA” and the 12 months 2025. The glass was designed by a “former US Marine Corps corporal” who works at Apple, in accordance with Prepare dinner. The bottom “comes from Utah.”
Prepare dinner is well-known for his means to foster a relationship with President Trump, and shortly after Trump was elected for his second time period, CEOs reportedly looked to replicate Prepare dinner’s relationship-building abilities. Trump has threatened Apple and different cellphone producers with tariffs except they convey manufacturing to the US.
