Honda has launched a new EV charging adapter that can permit its all-electric Prologue and Acura ZDX to energy up at over 23,500 Tesla Supercharger stations. The $225 adapter lets automobiles outfitted with Mixed Charging System (CCS) plugs use Tesla’s North American Charging Customary (NACS) stations, shopping for Honda a while earlier than it formally builds an NACS into an EV.
Honda first announced that it was engaged on the brand new adapter in March, and now drivers can buy it from the automaker’s web site, in addition to from Honda and Acura dealerships. Along with launching the adapter, Honda introduced that it’s going to now let EV homeowners use their automobiles’ built-in Google Maps app to seek out Tesla Superchargers.
Honda is engaged on an integration with the HondaLink and Acura EV apps that can let drivers use Superchargers. For now, Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX homeowners might want to depend on Tesla’s app to provoke charging.
